Support the real author for Bazaar (bzr) branches

Hi there Ohloh crew,

Short version: Please support the --author argument of bazaar.

Long version: I've just created the bazaar branch on Launchpad for the BaShare project. I'm the one putting all the code in version control, but I haven't actually coded it.

Bazaar supports such a thing by providing the --author argument when committing. That way, I appear to be the committer, but not the author. You can check that out on http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~bashareteam/bashare/main/changes , I've committed everything from version 1 to 6, but I only appear only as the author of commit 4, Guido is the author of all the other commits.

However, Ohloh seems to think that whoever committed code is the author of that code (which is often not true, for example in the case of submitted patches). You can see that on https://www.ohloh.net/p/bashare/commits I appear as being the only author of the project.

Would it be possible for Ohloh to support this argument, therefore showing the correct contributors to a project?

Thanks.

Hi Emilien,

This does sound like a simple change, and we do already have a ticket open for this request. However, I can't estimate a timetable for this change.

Thanks,
Robin
