Project names in URLs?
The site looks very good and is quite informative, thank you! I have a question regarding URLs. Why did you decide to use numeric IDs instead of some shortened project names? E.g., http://www.ohloh.net/projects/1 is not as informative as http://www.ohloh.net/projects/subversion. Thanks!

Hi Sergey,
We actually originally implemented our URLs with the project name in the path (and those old URLs still work if you remember them).
However, we quickly ran into trouble with name conflicts, and sorting out which projects were entitled to which names ate up a lot of energy. We reverted to using ID numbers to avoid the problem.
I still like this idea, and it doesn't seem terribly hard to fix, so it's entirely possible that we'll support it again in the future.
