Missing languages: Forth, Cobol

I'm using the API to add some statistics for langpop.com, and noticed that I have a few languages that Ohloh doesn't, even if... well, it does.

If you search with tags, there are a few Cobol and Forth projects on Ohloh, so it might be worthwhile having Ohloh recognize those languages, both of which might not be popular these days, but are certainly noteworthy.

Hi David,

I'm actually kind of surprised that we've gone this long without COBOL and Forth parsers. Believe it or not, you're the first to request them.

We've reached the point where we pretty much rely on the community to contribute new parsers, so that we can focus on other things -- and I must admit that community contributors usually know more about the languages than we do. :-)

Which is my nice way of saying our line counter Ohcount is open source, and we happily accept patches for new languages.

Once you get it all installed and building, it's not too hard to get a new parser going through cut-and-paste.

You can find all of the goodness here.

Thanks,
Robin

lolwut? I count about 10 Forth requests in the forum over the past few years.

Perhaps the problem is that the intersection of Forth/COBOL users and Ruby users is a null set. ;)

Heh, OK, I give you Forth, but COBOL is pretty bare. :-)
