Good Job ^^

Merci pour l'encouragement!

Etant crateur de ce site je regrette qu'on ne supporte pas l'unicode.

We realize we have a large european user base. We'll have to spend the next few weeks focused on supporting the new release - but adding Unicode support is definitely on our radar. Sorry for the inconvenience!

I've gone through the new (especially user-related) features and it looks like you've been working hard lately, congrats! A few things that could be improved:

  • On the user profile the coding experience details link doesn't work, is this as expected?
  • I personally find the dabbled in language X not very useful. Some people may know that statistics displayed on Ohloh refer to projects that are in the Ohloh DB. But whereas the main statistics (e.g. PHP: 1.4 years) provide measurable figures (that can be explicitely referred to projects tracked by Ohloh), these minor stats look like generic, unmeasurable statements about a developer's experience. For someone with a fairly large experience in a language (say CSS), but not a long history of commits in that language to a SVN repository, this generic dabbled in sounds a bit unfair.
  • Among Ohloh related statistics you could add the number of projects a user has added to Ohloh.
  • It would be great if the coding experience stats as well as per-project contributors stats were exportable as widgets, this would give Ohloh a tremendous visibility via backlink traffic.
  • As noted in a previous post, most of Ohloh's pages have no HTML title, which is like suicide in terms of SEO.

My 2 cents,
Dario

Also, a very low-priority request: the confirmation message that is displayed when logging in or when storing settings in the profile (a yellow box with a triangular alert icon) looks like an error message rather than a confirmation that everything went fine. I thought you might want to find something more friendly not to scare the user every time he or she logs in :)

Another random idea, sorry for spamming this thread.
To make the map attached to each contributor's profile more useful, why not add in the bubble a link to the ohloh page for the main OS project the user contributed to (if any)?
