Based on the Firefox report on Ohloh, you might come away with the mistaken impression that Firefox was achieved with only 50,000 lines of code.
However, the Firefox project page listed here shows only code that is unique to the browser, which extends other Mozilla libraries.
Primarily, you should also review the project page for Mozilla Core, which includes several million lines of code and was built by hundreds of developers. This core library forms the bulk of Firefox.
A search for mozilla
on Ohloh will return all the relevant projects.
We've considered merging all of the repositories for Mozilla Core into the Firefox project page, but for now we have decided to keep them distinct. We're open to discussion about this.
