Hi,
in the Jabber section of the profile settings is a link to the forum, which points to a 0.0.0.0 ip address.
Ciao, Michael
And BTW: The page tells me, I need to change my login so I can be messaged by friends. But it does not tell me, what exactly I need to change (to lowercase, to uppercase, shorter, ...) and I also find no answer to that in the FAQ.
Hi Bananeweizen,
Thanks for reporting the broken link. I have deployed a fix.
Regarding the login name restrictions: good point; this is not clearly explained anywhere.
It appears that in order to be used as a key for the journal feature, your account name must
begin with a letter
contain only letters, numbers, underscores(_) and dashes(-)
must be all lowercase
I'm not sure why there is a lowercase restriction here, and I think we should remove it -- but I need to talk to Jason about this first, since he knows more about this than I do.
It's a holiday in the US, so Jason might not be in the office today. Tomorrow, we'll have a little meeting about this and try to get it fixed.
Thanks,
Robin
BananeWeizen: I apologize for the draconian lowercase restrictions. I will change this to respect MiXeD case names and to be case invariant when referencing someone. Example: if my login name is Jason
, people should be able to message me as @Jason
, @jason
or @JASON
... I hope to check this in tomorrow. I will also post a section about this in the FAQ.
One last thing - I will apply this same change for projects (eg: Linux
can be referred to as #linux
, #LINUX
...
Thanks for the feedback!
BabaneWeizen - just wanted to let you know that this change has been deployed.
