Hello,
I'm trying to add two new projects. Both of their sources are on git:
https://github.com/gpujs/gpu.js
https://github.com/BrainJS/brain.js
I fill in all the mandatory fields, however when I try to save the projects I get the following error message:
There was a problem and the repository could not be verified. Please check URL and branch.
I've added quite a lot of projects recently and never got this problem. Am i doing something wrong or is there any known technical issues in Git or in OpenHub?
Thanks!
Hello,
Thank you for writing to us.
We will look into this issue and keep you informed as and when we have updates.
Thank you!
Could you please help us from where you were trying to add the project.
I just created a new project
https://www.openhub.net/p/gpu_js/enlistments
and it seems to be working fine.
Please do let us know.
Hi rapbhan,
Here's my step by step:
1) On the Home page https://www.openhub.net/ , I click on Projects
2) On the Projects page https://www.openhub.net/explore/projects I click on Add new project button and am taken to
3) https://www.openhub.net/p/new where I fill in the Enter the forge URL for your project (or leave blank) field with https://github.com/BrainJS/brain.js and press Next, being taken to
4) https://www.openhub.net/p/check_forge where many fields are pre-filled, among them the Project Source Code is filled with git://github.com/BrainJS/brain.js.git (I also tried replacing it with https://github.com/BrainJS/brain.js) So I just fill in the Download page with https://github.com/BrainJS/brain.js and choose MIT license and press Save Project and Bang!, https://www.openhub.net/p comes with the error message.
Thanks a lot!
Hello robertokir,
Thank you for the detailed steps.
I followed as you did and the reason it threw the error was the URL slug was invalid i.e. in
Open Hub Project URL field (on check forge page) the project name is pre-filled as brain.js
and you can rename it as brain_js
or anything of your choice (and as you type it would let you know if its available and valid)
May I ask you to retry and update the Open Hub Project URL
of your choice and give a try?
Happy to help!
Thanks rapbhan,
It worked! I could swear I had tried that before and it hadn't worked, but then, we shouldn't swear so easily huh?
thanks again for your time and attention!
No worries! Glad it worked :)
