https://www.openhub.net/p/freebsd has not had an update for 6 months. Its update status is listed as (Waiting in queue)
. Multiple help requests have gone unanswered. This is a very important project with hundreds of active contributors. Can somebody please investigate? If there's a problem with our SVN server, we'll happy fix it. You just need to tell us what to do.
Dear asomers;
I apologize profusely for the delay in responding to you.
Yes, we continue to have a single failing repository that fails with svn: E120108: Error retrieving REPORT: The server unexpectedly closed the connection.
The repository is https://svn.freebsd.org/base/head
I'm trying a fresh Fetch for this repository.
Thanks Peter. Unfortunately, the repository seems stuck again. The Code Locations page says Step 1 of 3: Downloading source code history (Running 7047/205008)
. Is your importer more reliable with git than svn? If so, perhaps we should use FreeBSD's official git mirror instead of svn.
Interestingly, the download is progressing now, albeit very slowly. In the last two hours its advanced from 7047 to 7132. I'll check back daily.
Yes, as a general rule, Git is more reliable than SVN from a number of perspectives. Switching to the Git mirror may be more successful
I tried adding a git repo, then deleting the SVN repo. But openhub apparently hasn't tried to import from git yet. Could you please restart it? The Update Status is currently showing this:
Step 2 of 3: Importing source code into database (Failed about 24 hours ago.)
Could you please restart the import? It doesn't look like Openhub has attempted an import since I replaced the svn repo with a git repo. The status is still showing:
Step 2 of 3: Importing source code into database (Failed 11 days ago.)
