Nitrogen is a background browser and setter for X windows. It is written in C++ using the gtkmm toolkit. It can currently be used in two modes: browser and recall. It is multihead and Xinerama aware.
Notion is a tiling, tabbed window manager for the X window system:
* Tiling: you divide the screen into non-overlapping 'tiles'. Every window occupies one tile, and is maximized to it
* Tabbing: a tile may contain multiple windows - they will be 'tabbed'
* Static: most tiled window
... [More] managers are 'dynamic', meaning they automatically resize and move around tiles as windows appear and disappear. Notion, by contrast, does not automatically change the tiling. You're in control.
Features include:
* Workspaces: each workspace has its own tiling
* Multihead: the mod_xinerama plugin provides very nice dual-monitor support
* RandR: mod_xrandr expands on mod_xinerama and picks up changes in the randr configuration without the need for restarting Notion [Less]
Wmiirc-lua is a replacement of the wmiirc that comes with wmii-3.5 (and later) with a lua script. This removes the fork/exec overhead of the shell script that is used to control the wmii window manager.
The long term goal of the project is to duplicate features from the wmii+ruby project.
Razor-qt is merging with LXDE

Please see: https://www.openhub.net/p/lxde/
Razor-qt is an advanced, easy-to-use, and fast desktop environment based on Qt technologies. It has been tailored for users who value simplicity, speed, and an
... [More] intuitive interface. Unlike most desktop environments, Razor-qt also works fine with weak machines. [Less]
Unagi is a modular compositing manager which aims to be efficient, lightweight and responsive. It is currently written in C programming language and based on XCB library client library. Any existing window manager can be used as long as it implements properly EWMH and ICCCM specifications (or at
... [More] least parts of it which are needed), which is generally the case nowadays.
This project also aims to provide a functional and stable software to improve window manager usability from an end-user point of view (for instance windows translucency, application-switcher using live thumbnails instead of plain icons, Exposé...), therefore it does not intend at all to provide useless eye-candy effects. Cygwin/X is a port of the X Window System to the Microsoft Windows family of operating systems. Cygwin/X runs on all recent consumer and business versions of Windows.
Cygwin/X consists of an X Server, X libraries, and nearly all of the standard X clients, such as xterm, xhost, xdpyinfo, xclock
... [More], and xeyes. Cygwin/X, as the name implies, uses the Cygwin project which provides a UNIX-like API to Xlib and X clients, thereby minimizing the amount of porting required. [Less]
