nexgent

Compare

  No analysis available

Nexgent is a nagios like daemon that runs on paravirtualized Xen guests. Vital information such as loads, iowait, memory usage and disk usage are exported to the privileged domain via Xenbus. The privileged domain can then establish inotify like watches on guest values, enabling the privileged ... [More] domain to take action on events (such as loads getting too high, memory being exhausted or a disk filling up). This program is not yet release quality, but soon will be. [Less]

sheepdog

Compare

  Analyzed about 18 hours ago

Sheepdog (sorry, couldn't think for a better name...) is aimed at semi automatic management of virtualised server environments. Primary goal is the management of multi-host XEN environments in one place. Simple functions like starting, stopping, migrating XEN VMs should be relatively easy to ... [More] achieve. Later a simple high availability function will be added and even load balancing might be possible. Sheepdog will have a modular design, that will make it easy to add functions and interfaces to other hypervisors like VMware or hyperV. Sheepdog right now is no more than an idea! I hope to get some code up here soon. [Less]

Invirt

Compare

  No analysis available

Invirt is a software package originally designed by the Student Information Processing Board of MIT as a free service for the MIT community. It includes VM creation and management through a web interface, load balancing across multiple virtual machine hosts, a serial console server accessible over ... [More] ssh, a 3 minute autoinstaller-in-a-domU, and several other features for provisioning. We've just launched our installation of Invirt for the MIT community, but we're interested in seeing it used by others as well. Although we've striven to make the software configurable, it is still largely MIT-specific, so if you need assistance, go ahead and contact us. [Less]
