New plshades API plus x16.i initial check-in to test it. The x16.i postscript results are identical to x16c from PLplot if the latter are done with zdefined replaced by NULL in the last plshades call. So everything is fine for yplot plshades except for the "defined" part of the functionality. Currently there is no way to mimic this functionality from yplot, but once defined is implemented in PLplot using the function evaluator approach (planned for early in the plplot 5.1.x cycle), then the plshades (and plshade) internal implementation can be changed to take advantage of it with no API change.	airwin	More...				over 25 years ago

There is no need to force default values so get rid of extraneous plcol0, 1 call which was making slight difference in postscript results when compared to the x??c.c examples which did not have this call.
