Unfortunately I’m unable to comment directly on Andrew Cowie’s post. But it’s nice to see the railway station from my home town. The station shown was designed by John Dobson (a famous northern architect) and constructed by Robert Stephenson (that’s the bloke who invented the train). Now for all this set of tracks may look [...]

But when it makes my computer grind to a halt and the hard disk go nuts in a way only recoverable by powering it off. It really messes up my day. Fedora 10 now uses the cd label went mounting cdroms, so cd’s are now mounted as: /media/[DISK LABEL] Instead of like in previous versions: /media/cdrom This means you have to open up winecfg and change the value for D:// every time you insert a different cd, which is not fun. A fix can be found here.

There has been a couple of Solaris related bugs on the trac since I joined Wine-Doors, so I’ve played around with Solaris quite a bit. I’ve looked into getting Wine-Doors running on Solaris a few times but I’ve always had problems with setting up a decent build environment for WINE and the rest of Wine-Doors dependencies.  [...]
