Squiz NZ held their annual MySource Matrix user workshop last week. This year, they also held their own feature bazaar so those MySource Matrix users in New Zealand who were unable to attend this year's international user conference were still able ... [More] to influence the direction of the CMS. Plenty was on offer at the bazaar and Squiz NZ funded a total of $67,000 worth of development that is now heading for the MySource Matrix GPL release. The following features were sold: Getting the What's New page to list assets based on current date ranges, like "current week" A new cron job to delete expired cache entries and save some server space A "Tweet This" trigger A usage screen for metadata and workflow schemas Allowing workflow notes to be included in the workflow emails XSLT transformations in the XML data source Great feature suggestions from our friends in New Zealand and a list that will be of interest to all MySource Matrix clients. Another feature bazaar has come and gone and Squiz Labs has again committed to funding a large amount of MySource Matrix development. At this year's bazaar, a total of $80,000 worth of development was sold and is now heading for the MySource Matrix ... [More] GPL release. Unlike previous years, the MySource Matrix users decided to focus on buying many smaller features rather then the big ticket items such as an Ajax-based remote content page and adding new words to the spell checker, both of which were passed in. This is probably a good indication of how MySource Matrix is being implemented and the type of projects being worked on. MySource Matrix is often used as a powerful toolkit to build complex sites and these smaller features will add to that toolkit and enable editors to build even richer websites. One feature that was sold quickly, and wasn't really a surprise, was an extension to the MySource Matrix SharePoint integration. This feature improves permission support for the SharePoint bridge by enabling administrators to sync SharePoint documents into MySource Matrix and use the internal permission system to control access. Previously, those trying to access SharePoint documents were required to have permission to view the document within SharePoint itself. To learn more about the MySource Matrix feature bazaar concept and see a full list of features that were on offer this year, visit the Feature Bazaar page on the Squiz website.   [Less]
