So things have been a tad quiet lately due to vacation and a 2 month consulting engagement in Dublin, Ireland, but we've returned to dwindle down the issues required before 0.2 release. Here's the current Jira 0.2 Roadmap, with about 8 issues to go. ... [More] As mentioned previously, the API has changed a bit, but it is much more stable now, and much cleaner and easier to understand. It shouldn't take much effort to translate from 0.1 usages to 0.2 (although there will be some changes required). We very sincerely hope to limit or eliminate this from happening again. read more [Less]

We had our 1000th download last week! This is pretty good for a project only at a 0.1 version with _no_ 'advertising' in the form of online articles or white papers. Everything has been word of mouth ;) We are really happy to say that feedback for ... [More] 0.1 has led to us currently being in really heavy in development for 0.2 right now - we're putting on the finishing touches as I write this. There were some significant API changes, but they were all for the better. We've found that things 'feel' much more stable and just make more sense over all. The architecture is much cleaner and overall easier to understand - always a good thing. read more [Less]

This is just a quick update that JSecurity is actively under development for the 0.2 release. This release will include things such as: - simplified SecurityContext API, supporting pojo-style creation in addition to static method access - Better ... [More] multiple realm support (via a RealmManager) - better event infrastructure - minor bug fixes Note that there were some API changes, so if you're moving from 0.1 to 0.2, there will be some (minor) work required on your part. I've found the labor required to do so in my own environments was about 15 to 30 minutes, depending on the codebase. Naturally, these kind of API changes (that require changes on your part) will lessen a great deal and hopefully cease to exist entirely upon the 1.0 release. read more [Less]

JSecurity was the topic at the Atlanta Java Users Group's (AJUG) April meeting.  We announced the 0.1.0 release of JSecurity and gave an overview of the project.   The response from attendees was extremely positive.  I have added the PowerPoint ... [More] presentation to the documentation page.  Also, be sure to check out the new release and post any comments or ideas in the forums!  Jeremy  [Less]
