I use this tool every day and it's almost opened, since it's my #1 choice to logon to our linux boxes via SSH2. It's "basic", slim and simple, but yet powerful - easy shortcuts to duplicate sessions, copy/paste, save session settings and even X11 forwarding.
5 stars and a big thanks to the contributors of PuTTY!
PuTTY is a testament to compact application building. It is the SSH client that can do anything you need it to. It can recognize the most obscure keystrokes that not even GNOME terminals can pick up on.
All other Windows SSH clients shadow in comparison to PuTTY. There are zillions of features packed into PuTTY and it still manages to keep the UI minimal, aside competing SSH clients that tend to bloat the interface.
PuTTY's always been there when I needed it. I still use it even after several years of use.
Best SSH/telnet/terminal client app on Windows.
Really good, simple, lightweight. I have been using it for years; no issues at all.
I'm assuming the development activity on this is slowing YOY because it is mature and stable.
admit that putty's good for win users, but i don't like the way config is saved/loaded. when i recommend putty to my friends, none of them know how the save/load works. i know how to use it just because i'm a programmer.
the save/load in putty works exactly as if i'm save/loading files. how could ppl know it's saving as the name in input box instead of the one selected in select box?
I am using this wonderful tool for the last couple of years to logon to my remote linux box. Its slim and easy to use. No need to install anything in your computer. I am rating 5 to this tool
