Yet again I am having to figure out why this piece of shit won't work. It is insane. I have gone through the wiki, searched news groups and wasted hours on this garbage. Why is there no simple set of instructions on how to record with the mike jack and hear sound out the sound jack? *Then* I *might* want a network sound server. But for now I just want the damn thing to work.
And how do I add a zero rating?

Summary:
It's an unfinished, pre-mature, hardly documented beast that doesn't do at all what was promised

I must say the specs sound promising and overall, in times where it's common to administer a small LAN of at least 3 or more boxes, the networking capability comes in handy. The *IDEA* is good.

Having said that, the implementation looks like the homework of a cs undergraduate gone wrong. What they call stable and mature, I'd call (at a push) a first prototype. There's hardly anything that works as *described* (if you're so lucky as to find a description without reading the source code). It starts with random crashes (I reported it, they blamed it on my compiler, yeah right, as if!), over to ridiculous default settings (who wants their sound turned off after the server consumed 60 CPU-minutes?!?!) and is topped off by unreportable bugs, like a hissing and crackling noise in glitch free mode, sure they claim it's unreproducible; but then again I wonder if they're not deaf and blind after all. I should have filmed my dog's scared face, howling and hiding as proof that *something* is wrong with the audio produced.

Great experiment, alas a total fail.
