Today we've reached some interesting milestones in development. Our Subversion repository has reached revision number 1000, and we now have 100 tickets logged in Trac. We have also added the 0.3.4 release to the Development Releases? page.

It's that time again! We just pushed Precursors 0.3.4 build 967 out to the servers! This release features a new login interface (non functional... yet) some new fixes, star field, joystick support, and some smoother movement. This release does also ... [More] contain networking, but we've only just found out how truely broken our networking library appears to be under windows. (Which is ironic, given the bad linux support). We will need to rewrite the networking code to use a different library, and at that time we'll also finish the dedicated server, AND we'll have database backed logins, along with character creation! We are currently preparing for a new Development Release. For those of you who've been wondering why we stopped releasing Dev Builds, it's because one of our libraries, RakNet? wouldn't build on windows, under MinGW. Then, once we got it building ... [More] , another library we used updated their version, and then it also stopped building in windows. Now, however, we've switched to building in Microsoft VC8, and everything works like a dream. So, Precursors, version 0.3.4 will be online in the very near future. [Less]
