I’ve been involved in the open source community dating back to the first time I downloaded and installed 386BSD 0.1 in 1992 while a freshman in college. Update 22 March 2021 WireGuard has been removed from daily snapshots of pfSense Plus 21.02.2 / pfSense CE 2.5.1 as of March 20, 2021 beginning with snapshot timestamp 20210320-0824. WireGuard has also been removed from pfSense Plus 21.05 / pfSense CE 2.6.0 beginning with snapshot timestamp 20210320-0100. To learn more, please review our blog.

Update 2021-03-18: Pending further updates from Netgate, we recommend users of WireGuard do not configure jumbo frames on WireGuard interfaces (MTU >= 1420). The blog post text below has been updated to reflect this recommendation.

TNSR software release 21.03 is here, and not a day too soon! Our intent was to release in February, which would have made it 21.02. Unfortunately, Texas came to a screeching halt about two weeks ago when (what we unaffectionately refer to as) ... [More] ‘Snowpocalypse’ hit. Many of our engineers and release management staff - all of whom have been working from home since March 2020 - were left without power and/or water for days. It wasn’t pleasant. Nonetheless, the team powered through and only missed February by a few days. [Less]

Last week, February 17, we released pfSense Plus 21.02 alongside pfSense CE 2.5. It was the culmination of 9 months of work on new features, testing, and bug fixing, and we were quite proud of it.
