For those keeping watch on our RSS feed, we are pleased to announce the release of a little Alpha version of Jojo.
We have been busy the past few weeks cleaning out legacy code and making sure we aren't breaching any licenses with the open source

software included in Jojo.
Before we can call the system beta, we would like to have better documentation and a little more road testing on some more different servers. It's running a real treat on our lovely fast PHP5 servers, but it's a real mixed bag with all the different host configurations out there.
We are continuing to work hard on the system, and will keep the regular updates flowing now that we have our first release out there.
Thanks for all the great feedback so far.

We have decided to license Jojo CMS under the GNU Lesser GPL license.
We did toy with the idea of using a commercial license, but at the end of the day, developers are already familiar with the LGPL license, it plays well with open-source and

proprietary software, and it means less restrictions for our users.
The Lesser GPL license means that Jojo is free, and you can use it for commercial or non-commercial purposes on as many sites as you like with no complicated and sneaky license terms.
The LGPL license is less restrictive than the GPL license used by many other CMS systems such as Wordpress and Drupal. We think that our users may want to use Jojo as part of non-GPL software applications, and felt the LGPL was a better choice for us.Source: And the license is... LGPL [Less]

So April got away on us, and still no beta version on the site, but the good news is that it's not far away.
We have been busy adding lots of features and making things go fast and we are really pleased with how the CMS is shaping up.
Next step

from here is to launch a demo site where you can have a play in the admin section, then a full weekend of coding and documentation before we release the first Beta.
Keep an eye on the RSS feed for more details - thanks for the continued support.
