Dear Origo users as you may have noticed, our issue tracker has been changing in the past few week. It is under heavy development and we are making great progress. We have already informed you about the filter and sorting capabilities. Since then, we ... [More] again added some new features. You are now able to save the current filter under a specific name. This filter will then appear as a button in the section "Personal filters". Clicking the button will filter the issues according to the filter you saved. This allows you a much faster access the issues, you're interessted in. You could for example define a filter to display issues that are assigned to you. To do so, select your username in the "assigned to" filter box. Then enter a name for your filter, e.g. "My issues" or "Assigned to me", and press the save button. A button will appear in the personal filters section. When you click this button, your filter gets activated and the issue table will show the issues assigned to you. Please take a look at the new issue tracker and feel free to play with the filter options. The Origo Team [Less]

Some weeks ago we started improving the performance of WebSVN and now we completed the speed improvements. This should make browsing a repository online much, much faster and more comfortable. While we were doing the changes we also did some upgrades which provides some more improvements to websvn.

Today we present the first step of our redesign of the issue tracker. We present two new features: The first new features is the filter mechanism. You can now easily filter the issues by clicking on one or more keywords in the filter section. If you ... [More] would like to see all closed issues, simply click on the option 'Closed' in the category 'Status'. The issue list will be updated immediately. Filters can be combined at wish. The other features is the sorting mechansism. By default, issues are sorted by status, as it was before the update. Open issues appear before closed issues. You are now able to sort every column in ascending or descending order by clicking on the column header. Take a look at the issue tracker. [Less]

For people interested in setting up an own Origo instance, we created a virtual appliance, consisting of a Debian Etch, with Origo installed. You can run this appliance on the freely available VMWare Server running both on Windows or Linux. We'd like ... [More] for people interested in hosting an own Origo instance or just wanting to play with it, to download and experiment with it. There are some manual setup steps required and a good knowledge of Linux is recommended. Be aware, that this is an alpha version of the image and might still have a lot of problems. It is absolutely not recommended to use this an a production environment. You can find more information in our Wiki. Download it at http://www.origo.ethz.ch/download/853 If you find any problems, have recommendations or questions, please feel free to contact us in our Forum. [Less]

Yesterday we migrated to a new version of Origo. Some new features: We fixed a race condition in FTP account creation. The problem showed up, whenever you created a new user. As cause, the newly created user couldn't login to the FTP server. We ... [More] increased the file size limit for uploaded files on a wikipage to 100MB We added issue attachment handling capabilities in the backend of Origo. This is a prerequisite for applications like the new Origo Mylyn Connector, which we are currently working on. We excuse us for any problems that the downtime of the Origo server caused. [Less]

After a couple of difficulties with DNS and some other things, Origo is now fully running dual stack IPv4 and IPv6. If you're still using IPv4 you should not notice any difference. If you're using an IPv6 connection, everything should now go over ... [More] IPv6. IPv6 connectivity is provided by our provider and is native IPv6. If you encounter any difficulties please report them via the bugtracker or to support [at] origo [dot] ethz [dot] ch Your Origo Team [Less]

Maintenance is complete and Origo is up and running at full speed again. As a result of this operation Origo now officially supports IPv6. And several changes have been made to improve performance. Unfortunately we were unable to release the new ... [More] version of the Origo back-end at this time. A critical bug occurred on the live system which was not present during testing on the dev machines. So this has been postponed for the moment until the bug is fixed. A lot of work has been done by our master- and semester thesis students, including an improved project listing, a mediawiki parser, and a new theme. These changes will go live very soon. Since the new mediawiki parser introduces some breaking changes (currently we are only aware of one which affects the handling of newlines) there will be a transitional period where projects can still use the old parser. Of course we will keep you posted in this area. It is already possible to display additional project information (defined in the project settings) and export this data to other services via DOAP. cheers, The Origo team [Less]
