OpenTTD 1.1.3-RC1 contains the usual amount of bugfixes, but also the linux compile farm has been fixed, so generic linux binaries are again linked statically. In ... [More] contrast to what is stated on the download pages, Windows 2000 users have to use the Win9x build for now. Please help testing the release candidate. If you encounter any issues, report them to our bug tracker. Thanks! [Less]

As of today you can obtain the first release candidate OpenTTD 1.1.2-RC1 for the next upcoming stable release. As usual a number of bugs found since the last release have been fixed in this version. Among those fixes such nasty ones as where the ... [More] current vehicle's order got changed in conjunction with goto-nearest-depot orders as well as a possible desync in network games. Please enjoy and test this release candidate such that the next release will not suffer from any unexpected issues. You can obtain it from the usual download location, the full changelog is also available there next to it. [Less]

Some may or may not have noticed a slightly slower behaviour of our web services the last days or found in IRC the announcement that the server is subject to increased I/O operations. The reason behind this behaviour is simple: OpenTTD (and along ... [More] with it also OpenDune and TTDpatch binaries) move to a new home which is now graciously sponsored by OVH and these I/O operations were mostly copying stuff from our old server to the new machine. At the same time we would like to thank LeaseWeb for being our host for the last years. Especially TrueBrain has been and still is working hard the last days to transition all our services to the new and much more powerful machine. On the surface you won't see much difference except that now of course the sponsor's logo changed. Behind the scenes the transition from the old machine to the new still goes on. Thus please bear with us and tell us if there are issues with one of our services. [Less]

The new stable release OpenTTD 1.1.1 has arrived. Besides a lot of bug fixes it also modifies some of the features added in 1.1.0 which caused some confusion. For example 'automatic orders' are now called 'implicit orders' and their insertion ... [More] behaves better in various cases. However, note that implicit orders do not affect the actual routing of the vehicles, they are currently purely informative. Also the visualisation of train lengths in the depot view changed again. The number got an additional fractional digit to improve the visual feedback on adding wagons as well as allowing to construct trains of very specific lengths. Now, enjoy June with the new release! You can find the download link at the top of this page, and the detailed changelog next to the download. [Less]

Today we released the first release candidate for the upcoming next stable release. Originally we wanted to wait for November 11th for the release, but then that felt a bit unpleasant. So here is OpenTTD 1.1.1-RC1 :) This first bug fix release of ... [More] the 1.1. series fixes various issues with the previous release, though we are actually quite happy with the status of the 1.1. series. The previous 1.0 and 0.7 series required bug fix releases a lot earlier. So, please help testing the release candidate and try to disprove that bold pronouncement. If you encounter any issues, report them to our bug tracker. Thanks in advance! [Less]

After a long travel through various betas and RCs we finally arrived: Today we released OpenTTD 1.1.0, the new stable version! Though there was a bit of stumbling involved in the stabilisation process around RC1 and RC2, there was only need for ... [More] one single fix after RC3. So, enjoy stableness! Alternatively you could enjoy lavishing us with bug reports for 1.1.0 and force a soon 1.1.1 :p Also note, that this release is again available for Mac OSX, and also the Windows 9x build succeeded. You can find the download and the complete changelog since 1.0.5 behind the links on the top-left of this page. Have fun with OpenTTD 1.1.0, or only do serious stuff today! [Less]

We are getting closer to OpenTTD 1.1.0. Today we released the third release candidate. Most noticeable is the new intro game, which was determined via a competition over the past weeks/months. We would like to thank all participants submitting ... [More] pleasing games to look at! They were all nice, but only 3 could advance to the second round. Interestingly one of each of the 3 'normal' climates made it there. In the end the final vote turned out quite close; Romazoon's tropic game won by a narrow margin of 2 votes. Now, enjoy the new intro game, and - of course - the bugfixes, which OpenTTD 1.1.0-RC3 offers as well :) Nevertheless, please keep on reporting bugs to our bug tracker. [Less]

In case your plan was to help testing RC1 over the weekend: We are sorry. However, you are welcome to help testing RC2 :) The second release candidate contains a lot of bug fixes and is a big step forward to stabilising OpenTTD 1.1. Unlike ... [More] previous betas and RC1 it does not offer any new features though. But more stability is also a gameplay-improvement! You can find the download in the usual spot together with the changelog. Please report any bugs to our bugtracker. Don't be afraid to register at the bugtracker, fixing bugs often requires bi-directional communication between reporters and developers. Finally you should note that voting round 1 of the title game competition has been closed. The best three advanced to round 2 and you can now vote for one of them to become the title game of the 1.1.x series of OpenTTD! Go straight to the voting page; you do not even have to register for voting :p [Less]
