Did you download the file first to your local computer and then try uploading it to Workbench? Workbench cannot point directly to a remote file location -- although that would be an interesting feature, if there was a big enough use case.

Thanks for reporting this. This is caused by trying to insert from a file with data that is not UTF-8 encoded. I have file an issue: [link] However, you should be able to workaround this pretty easily by re- saving your file with UTF-8 encoding. This will depend on way you

I was trying to insert some records using Workbench. It was a fairly simple CSV with not too many records. I kept getting this error: Invalid byte 1 of 1-byte UTF-8 sequence. I tried many times, and failed. Then I was forced to download dataloader and run the same steps using the same csv - it worked

As like SF if work bench also have "Help" option available for each Module it will be very help full to the people who are very new to SF and Work Bench. For EX : In Queries-->Streaming Push Topics I Didn't understood what was this. If help is provided (As like SF in every page) there then it will be

Fields are set as External ID during configuration in Salesforce. Workbench looks for all fields designated that way.
