Bobcat

I added a global option dictionary to the sourcecode. It is able to take default values for options, read further options from various INI-like configuration files, and takes some options from the command lines. At the other end are the various ... [More] modules of Bobcat that need these options in order to know what to do. The whole thing is rather smart (not too smart I hope) so that it can also autodetect the type of the option and provide it not only as strings but also as ints, floats, and bools. read more [Less]

I've got quite a lot of feedback for Gummi/Bobcat. On StudiVZ, a German students community website, most people found it superfluous. Instead, they thought that LaTeX itself should be improved. While there are really clever LaTeX users on this ... [More] site, I still think they they didn't really grasp what Bobcat is about to be. Most of them seemed to think about Bobcat as some sort of "LaTeX file creation tool". However, LaTeX is only a means to an end in Bobcat, and to my surprise nobody talked about the Bobcat markup language itself. read more [Less]
