14 months after starting the newest version of AdaptCMS, AdaptCMS 3.0 is available to download!
http://www.adaptcms.com/download
We rewrote every single feature and functionality from scratch, are now using the cakePHP framework and a brand new admin

panel/frontend design. 3.0 also introduces a brand new plugin/theme system, which has 9 plugins and 1 theme in total, which also brings in a new AdaptCMS API website. (see below) With a modern approach in mind, AdaptCMS uses the latest version of the cakePHP framework - which gives us a lot out of the box, so we can work more on the features than the nitty gritty internals.
Template management now encompasses every single view in your website and a new editor "CodeMirror", now allows you to not have to touch FTP after installation. Asset Management is another one of the many new features, allowing you to add, edit and delete stylesheets used on your website. Media Management is now quick and easy, allowing you to upload files and when adding/editing an album, you simple select the files you want from a modal.
With all the new functionality, we have managed to cut query and load times down while the amount of things you can do and how easy you can do them is better than ever before. A cached page on 3.0 can load as low as 60-90ms and non-cached pages will load not much slower than that. Query optimization has been done which includes getting the amount of queries to a minimum, making sure they are as optimal as possible and table indexing for frequently fetched fields.
One of the new themes is user friendliness, a lot of that comes from AJAX. Comments feature full AJAX support, letting you reply without loading the pages as well as a template lookup in the admin area or posting in the forums with the AdaptBB plugin. It is not overdone, only used in areas where you want to look for something or post something and stay where you are. The result is a slick, fast interface admin and frontend alike.
Without having a huge bulleted list of items, we can't cover all the new additions. Be sure to download a copy and try it out for yourself. If you encounter any issues, check the support page and submit a ticket if one doesn't exist for the issue. While this is a huge version, we have great plans for the future and the more feedback we get the better we can make AdaptCMS. Stay tuned!
New AdaptCMS.com
With the new version, we have also redone and launched the brand new AdaptCMS.com:
http://www.adaptcms.com
We have stocked the site with all the information you need to know about AdaptCMS including a full documentation page, how to setup AdaptCMS, a demo and much more!
AdaptCMS API
With the introduction of Plugins and Themes, AdaptCMS now has it's very own API website:
http://api.adaptcms.com
Users can view all Plugins/Themes submitted to the API Website, along with forms to submit your very own Plugin or Theme and documentation how to make one. You can create an account to manage your listings and much more functionality is coming in the future. [Less]

We've been hard at work this past month trying to knock out any bugs we see and getting the first public release ready for production use. The great news is we are nearing completion and we are at a point that a release date can be published:
July
... [More]
20th, 2013
This is just two weeks from now and I just want to run through exactly what will be happening that day, because it is a lot. By the day before, or likely, the weekend before we will already have a zipped up copy of AdaptCMS 3.0 - but on that release day we will also be launching the new AdaptCMS.com website, an API website for plugins and themes and documentation site.
The new AdaptCMS website has been completely rebuilt just as the CMS - a new design and a ton of information on the new version. Both this and it's related sub-sites should launch that morning or early on that day at/around the same time as the CMS.
Until then? We'll be posting a blog shortly to detail the changes from Beta 3-3.0 and how to transition from 2.0.3.0. After that, just stay tuned for July 20th either here, or probably better, the AdaptCMS.com website for the full announcement details.
Stay tuned!

The last limited beta, AdaptCMS Beta 3, is now available in a limited release. The new version brought a lot to the table - the biggest work was fixing bugs, fixing browser issues, mobile testing, query optimization and themes received a large
... [More]
upgrade. More refactoring was done, a AdaptCMS 2.x converter was made and overall a lot of little enhancements.
This release is limited again because there is more testing and we want our full release, 3.0, to be as tested as possible. Between today and the release of AdaptCMS 3.0 (a release date should be known by next month), we will be working on getting it production ready - adding caching, doing another round of query optimization/bug hunting/browser testing and a few features - likely a google maps plugin and some updates to the plugins to get them ready.
We'll be going through every feature and testing them again, as well as seeing if we can make things more clear or look better. We'll also be testing on shared hosting in addition and update all the third party libraries. Once more work is done and exact details on what needs to be done before release, we should then know of a release date.
Included are instructions on how to install this version. We just ask to report any issues (or suggestions) and that if you start to use this release for a public site - you can upgrade from this release to 3.0, but note that this release is not officially supported as production ready since caching hasn't been enabled.
