[More] to minister to a community in crisis. “Last Monday, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and the surrounding communities were hit with a derecho. A derecho is a widespread, long-lived, and fast-moving type of violent storm known for straight-line winds. During this storm, wind gusts reached as high as 112 miles per hour and over 200,000 people lost power. Now, a week later over 25,000 still do not have power.” The team updated their Rock-powered external website with a disaster relief banner to help connect with those who may have found an internet connection. “You would not believe how many times we said we were so thankful our website was migrated to Rock, " Austin shared. Using SMS text messaging features in Rock, the staff reached out to their members and began recruiting volunteers to help with disaster relief. Within 24 hours, there were over 100 volunteers, ready to serve their neighbors. “Because Veritas uses a tool like Rock, we were able to respond quickly to meet the needs in our church and in the community."  [Less]

It's no secret that everything has changed this year in the wake of COVID-19. And the annual Rock Experience is no exception. [More] travel and in-person events, and the loss of our typical registration period due to COVID-uncertainty, we've made the decision to take this year's RX to a digital format. This was a challenging decision because we have had big dreams for our live gathering this year, many in the community have been holding out hope for meeting up at RX this year and, well, our team really looks forward to it. However, there are also many people who have valid health concerns or a reduced interest in traveling right now; not to mention the ever-evolving recommendations and guidelines about gathering sizes. With just a few short months before the RX2020 now, we knew we wouldn't be able to hit the registration numbers we'd need and had to admit that our preparation window for a live event had been seriously impacted. All of that aside, we are excited about vRX2020 and we'll let you in on a little secret. We’ve been wanting to do something like this for awhile and had already half-planned a virtual event earlier this year. Here's what you can expect from vRX: the same amazing content and community on August 18-19, but in a different format. We'll have a mix of livestream and on-demand content, incredible sponsors that are impacting churches in big ways, and the same amazing community that we connect with every year. What's new about this is that you'll be registering your entire organization for one price (based on organization size), and we'll include your content subscription at no extra cost.
