Today we did a big rework of our forum structure. Over the years MediaPortal grew and grew, and so did our forums. Now we have reached a point where it started to become quite confusing to read and post. This is why we decided to ... [More] completelly restructure the forums. Grouping by Tabs We are now using Tabs to group our forums. So if you are only interested in Development related discussions, you just have to press the Development Tab. You will then see only the Development forums. By using tabs we ensure that you only see the forums you are interested in. This makes the forum-index a lot shorter and much more readable... [Less]

And here is ... the MediaPortal 1.0.2 patch release!With this release we fix several (mainly installation related) issues of the 1.0.1 release that sadly slipped through quality assurance.If you are already using MediaPortal 1.0.0 or 1.0.1 then you ... [More] can simply use the update function to install this release. End of life for TV-Engine 2As some of you might know, MediaPortal itself still contains a TV-Engine. This is the legacy component prior to development of TV-Server.We stopped actively supporting this inbuilt TV module more than one year ago and we have been fully focusing the development on the TV-Server. Generally speaking, MediaPortal 1.0.1 is working very well for the majority of our users. But there were some critical issues which did slip through into this release. This is why we have decided to release MediaPortal 1.0.2 much earlier than ... [More] planned, in order to fix the most critical issues some users are suffering from. The 1.0.2 Installer will allow you to update a 1.0.0 and a 1.0.1 installation. Known Issues and Workarounds: Installer - .net Framework 2 SP1 error The DeployTool throws an error on Vista systems about a missing .net Framework 2 SP1. On Vista it is included in .net Framework 3 SP1 and can not be downloaded seperately. You need to install the .net Framework 3.5SP1 (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=AB99342F-5D1A-413D-8319-81DA479AB0D7 displaylang=en) on Vista systems. TV-Server... [Less]

We are proud to announce the release of MediaPortal 1.0.1!As we mentioned in earlier news our goals have been improvements concerning the stability and useability of MediaPortal and the TV-Server.One big useability improvement is the introduction of ... For the first time you will be able to update an existing MediaPortal 1.0 installation to 1.0.1 without losing any user settings.All you have to do is to run the MediaPortal 1.0.1 installer and select update .
