As microprocessor have limited resources, why to run an operating system and your code inside?
Right, better include the few operating system functions you like to use INTO your code!!
We use ChibiOS for an quadCopter project here in Beijing, its running perfect on our stm32 chips and we enjoy using hundred's of different threads, each for a certain task.
ChibiOS gave us the chance to write very clean and easy to understand code!
